About the East Midlands Film Office

The East Midlands Film Office is a growing initiative focused on supporting and attracting film and television production across the region.

Originally developed by Emma Ellis and Blake Sporne, the project brought together experienced industry voices with a shared ambition to unlock the East Midlands’ potential as a filming destination.

The Film Office is now evolving to connect productions with locations, partners, and opportunities across the region — making it simpler, more accessible, and more compelling to film here.

How It Started

The East Midlands Film Office began with a simple idea: that the region has far more to offer film and television production than it is currently known for.

Emma Ellis and Blake Sporne, both with deep roots in the industry, came together to explore how that potential could be unlocked — bringing experience, credibility, and a clear ambition to create something meaningful for the region.

Since then, the initiative has continued to evolve. Building on that early work, the focus is now on creating a practical, connected Film Office that supports productions on the ground — linking them with locations, partners, and opportunities across the East Midlands.

This is about building something that works in practice — making it easier for productions to choose the East Midlands, and ensuring the region can support them when they do.
