We are always on the look out for new and interesting locations, whether it’s beautiful, common place, or extraordinary we would love to hear from you. So please do get in touch by filling out the location listing form. Once we have reviewed the details, we will get back in touch to let you know if your application has been successful and talk through any questions you might have. Having shoots in your home or venue can be enjoyable and finically rewarding.
Why – Did you know you can make hundreds or even thousands of pounds a day for hiring your property or venue out to TV, Film and Photography shoots. Listing your location gives you the opportunity to unlock additional income from your property.
How much does it cost to list my location? It’s completely free to list, it only takes 5 minutes to upload the pictures. We simply take a small daily booking fee on any successful engagements. Or if you would rather handle the bookings yourself and simply wish to list with us, then you can opt to pay an annual fee of £50. We will add your contact details to the website allowing all communications to go directly to yourself rather than through the East Midlands Film.
Why should I choose to list with East Midlands Film? By listing your location with us you are supporting a local not-for-profit company focused on growing the East Midlands creative industries. We aim to invest in crew training and networking events helping our local area thrive. Our staff have 20 years of experience working in the film and TV industry and can offer expert advice throughout the filming process, we aim to be by your side every step of the way. We also aim to personally visit all the locations listed on our site to ensure they are suitable for filming. We can offer a full photography and management service if required.
How much can I earn? The fees depend on the size of the location and the size of the production. For example, a high-end TV drama fee would be larger than a small-scale photo shoot, the fee will reflect the level of disruption and the amount of crew involved.
How do I get paid? The production company will pay you directly, we advise that payment is made ahead of any filming that takes place.
Are my personal details such as address and phone number secure?
Yes, your personal details are secure. If you choose to list your property or venue with East Midlands Film, we will use a unique 4-digit number to identify it on the website instead of displaying the full address. The East Midlands Film staff will have access to your personal details, and we will only share them with production companies with your prior consent.
Alternatively, if you opt for the annual £50 fee instead of the free listing option, we can display your address and contact details on the website at your request. This option provides greater visibility for your property or venue.
What if something gets damaged? A location agreement will be signed ahead of the filming by both parties. This agreement ensures that your property will be returned to its original condition prior to the filming. If anything does get damaged it will be repaired or replaced. We will also ensure the production company has the relevant insurance in place and provide you with a copy. Please note that the location agreement is between the production company and the property owner, East Midlands Film is not responsible for any damage caused due to filming.
What makes a good location? – Ideally, properties with plenty of space make the best locations. The amount of crew and kit can vary according to the size of the production. For example, a photo shoot might only have 5 crew, but a high-end TV drama could have 50 crew. Having space to accommodate things like monitors and lighting equipment helps a shoot run smoothly. Outside space to park vehicles is also important, so a large driveway or good on-street parking would be ideal. If your house is small it’s still worth sending us details as location briefs can vary a great deal.
What kind of photos do I need to take?
